The Disabled Content Creators Collective

The Disabled Content Creators Collective (DC3) is an organization dedicated to supporting content creators through developing community, increasing accessibility, and introducing them to people who respect the unique nature of creating while disabled.

In November, we all come together to celebrate the newest members of the DC3 and our Indigenous members for Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month!

Celebrate with the DC3:

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does the DC3 define as a disability?

The DCCC accepts any communities members who define themselves as disabled or having a disability. This includes visible and invisible disabilities along with physical and mental disabilities. For our organization, neurodiversity also presents as a disability for many individuals. We accept those who are formally, informally, and self-diagnosed, as we recognize all of the barriers in place for accessing a formal diagnosis.

2. When will applications open for the stream team?

Applications open once per year from July to September. Some individuals may be extended an application outside of the formal application period through referral from members of the space.

3. How long until I hear back about my application?

It takes approximately two months from application submission to hear back from the DC3 about your application status. All applicants will receive an email stating the status of their application and feedback for those who are not accepted. Applications can be edited and resubmitted by members who are denied acceptance.

4. What does race have to do with disability, and why do you call yourself BIPOC-forward?

As with any form of marginalization, intersectionality must be at the forefront of the work an organization centering that group does. The disabled space is very white-forward, with many people of color (POC) struggling to get access to diagnosis due to class, racial bias, and cultural stigma around disability. In creating a BIPOC-forward space, we recognize the unique struggles of Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color and how their race/ethnicity impacts their access to care and community in the disabled space. Being BIPOC-forward means that we center BIPOC struggles, educate people on these struggles, and provide more equity and diversity in the disabled, streaming space.
